Day 87: 28/3/13
I slept on and off last night. The room was really quiet but I kept waking up for some reason. This morning Chloe sent a message early to say that it was going to be cold and wet today so to dress appropriately. When I got to work though, she wasn't in at all. She told us yesterday how a friend of hers had been killed a few months back and he trial for the guy that admitted killing her started yesterday so I presume it's because of that she didn't come in.
Malou and I were put with the team we went with last Saturday. Meaghan and Alex were in charge of us today. Alex is over the whole Channel and usually doesnt go out knocking but as it was the last day of Energy Australia he cane with us. We were put in pairs for the first few hours again and I was with Loran again. We were given bunny ears to wear today to celebrate Easter, but people weren't really taking us seriously so we took them off! We had no luck at all today as most people didn't really understand English. Some were as far as signing the contract but wouldn't go through with it as they didn't want to speak on the phone. They probably wouldn't have gotten through the verification call anyway!
At around 3 o'clock we were split up and given new turf. I got one fairly quickly. The girl I sold to had just moved in which meant she was on tr automatic electricity retailer which is AGL with really high rates. She had no bill or anything yet but she believed me without question that she was on the highest rates. It is the truth though!!
The next one I sold was a young woman who had looked up electricity prices for her business and had picked Energy Australia as they are the cheapest. She was an easy sell except the bills were in her fathers name and he was overseas. She could sign for it though but eventually they decided that the mother would sign for it! It took ages as they lived on a Court and there was a street with the same name so they were getting the meter numbers mixed up!
I had both of them shortly after four and Alex, Meaghan and Chloe were all texting to say I had to get another one! Lots of people wanted to look it up themselves or had just changed over a few days ago. Eventually around 6 I got one that was interested. The wife came to the door first and then the husband came saying they had heard the same speech from lots of people in the last few weeks. He eventually decided to do it though as it was a lot cheaper than what they were on! Again, the call took ages as they couldn't find the meter number! But it went through! So I finished on 3!
That had been my target in the morning too. Lots of us got our target. One girl brought down the whole bus score though as she spent most of the day chatting up a fella she met at one of the doors instead of selling! We ended up with the highest sales though out of all the vans- I think we got 22. Malou won a big Easter egg as she got 5. Jesse got 6 but let her have it as he's been there for a good while. The rest of us got little mini eggs. Loran got a little bunny rabbit for selling the most in the last hour!
They drove us to a train station and it didn't take long to get home at all. That's a good thing about living so central! I had some food and it was around 8 when I got back to the hostel. I spent a bit of time on the Internet and then went straight to bed as I was wrecked!!
