Yesterday we left Chillagoe and made our way to Karumba. Was 600 + km drive taking about 9 hours. We passed through the towns of Mt Surprise, Georgetown and Croydon - all three towns have a mining history though compared to what these towns would have been like in their glory days they are now just existing. We also passed through Normanton on our way. Karumba (ey karumba!) is a small town. People come here to fish - catch of the day: Barramundi. I guess the local t-shirt speaks volumes: Karuma - where the hell is it. Today we had a rest day and after a long day in the car yesterday avoided car travel. The day was spent relaxing around camp, washing and having a stroll around town. Karumba is known for beautiful sunsets so we headed to Karumba Point to watch it. Absolutely beautiful. My pictures do not do it justice. The orange is intense.
