Yesterday we left Narrabri (after a sub zero night) around 9am and travelled to Rolleston (approx 800km).
Narrabri was a nice little town - its a shame that the main street had alot of empty shops.
We crossed the border at Mungindi and made it into QLD - it was a Sunday and it appeared that the border protection office was closed - so we passed by without issue.
Lots of long straight roads - lots and lots of cotton and some wheat and an echidna!
We made it to Rolleston around 7pm - long day but worth it.
Today we travelled from Rolleston to Charters Towers (600km). Was a rainy day (not so sure about the beautiful one day perfect the next slogan). Lots of mines and cattle stations!
Had some car issues during the day so will be making a pit stop in Innesfail to make sure it isnt anything major (car could get into the service centre on Wed morning) - before hopefully heading to Cairns to continue with the rest of the group on wednesday afternoon/thursday morning.
Got to see some emus, kangaroos and the caravan park possums today.
All in all lots of kilometeres travelled - the next couple of days are rest days and it will be nice to spend some time out of the car !
Another two days closer to the tip!
