Greetings!
Well, rehearsals are over...actually, they were over on Saturday. According to our director we're in such good shape to head into tech that he gave us Sunday & Monday off, before we fly to PA to tech tomorrow. One night to tech. Then we open on Wednesday. This is nuts...keep your fingers crossed!
The past week has been great. A lot of work and rehearsing, but managed to sqeeze in a lot of fun too. BBQ at our choreographer's house (thanks Wendy!). Gorgeous fireworks over the Mississippi. A great visit with my lovely and talented friend Cheryl Hoffmann. Ended our time here with a Twins game tonight. I've never been to a ball game in an indoor stadium. Kind of a surreal experience. The stadium is overwhelmingly large. And we got the uber cheap seats. But we had an absolutely fantastic time. And the game was great, with the Twins winning 4-3.
Also went to see Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping at the Plymouth Playhouse. It's a riot...and most of the original cast from our version of CBL were in it. If you're in or near Minneapolis, go see it! It's a lot of fun and the ladies are fantastic: http://plymouthplayhouse.com/
I also had some awesome meals in the last week. So if you're in Minneapolis, here are some of my recommendations:
Thai: Roat Osha -- www.roatoshathai.com
Coal Fired Pizza: Black Sheep -- www.blacksheeppizza.com
Indian: Cat-Man-Do -- www.thecatmando.com
Sushi: Zake -- www.zakemn.com (all you can eat sushi / amazing late night sushi happy hour)
All in all, I have really thoroughly enjoyed my time in Minneapolis. I completely understand why my friend Marija wanted to move back here! I've come to feel really at home here. I'm just glad we weren't rehearsing here in the winter. Apparently, it's pretty miserable.
Looking forward to having the show up and running. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be long days with a lot of work, but then we'll be open! Crazy...Posted a bunch of new pictures. Will try and get a new KP & KP up there soon, too...
Enjoy!
