Greetings!
Wow, what a whirlwind week. We flew into Harrisburg, PA on Tuesday...meaning we got up at 5am and took THREE flights from Minneapolis. It was smooth and easy, but long. We got about an hour off, then went to the theater for tech & our ONE dress rehearsal. Long day. Wednesday was opening. Started the day by going to the National Civil War Museum with Curt...it was so cool. Truely a great museum. I highly recommend it. And Curt and I had a great time. Then we opened. With a matinee. Given theat we had only done it once with costumes, the full set, etc. it went pretty well. Really needed to be in front of an audience. Ended the day with a lovely opening night dinner.
The shows are just getting better and better. It's a really fun show that, with the right audience, is uproariously funny. It's seriously the most fun I've had on stage in a really long time. And we had a lot of them back to back...but managed to get in some fun, too. Thursday we took advantage of the free day and went to Hershey Park. We had a rediculously good time. Got caught in a downpour but still got in multiple rollercoasters and a show. My parents came in for the weekend (yay!!) and saw the show on Sunday. Did an early birthday celebration and got some wonderful presents (thanks so much to them and to Seth!). Then Sunday night we had a great visit with WEDDING SINGER kids. PEG - who I just did FOOTLOOSE with - is putting it out as their next nat'l tour but right how they're performing at the Dutch Apple in Lancaster, PA. This theater world is so small. Everyone knows everyone. We had so much fun! And I got to see my great friends Shain, Justin & April.
A crazy, whirlwind week but it was a great way to start off the tour. We're now in Columbus, OH. Another very long travel day, but tomorrow's a day off. Phew...
Enjoy!
