Day 119 (Wednesday 14th February 2007)
David had Marc up at 05:00 for his trip to Adelaide and on his way to work he dropped him off at the airport.
In the airport then and Marc checks in ok, but see what happens when Sarah leaves him on his own for more than 5-seconds...
Marc found his way upstairs and having meticulously followed the signs for his gate, he sat down and waited in the lounge with a few others. Next thing you know, and Marc's sure the guy said Adelaide, a member of staff comes out and announces the flight has been delayed, the excuse being that the pilot has lost his headset!
So Marc, despite thinking this is all a bit odd, puts his feet up and tired from his early morning rise, begins resting his eyes. Imagine his horror then when he was startled by his second wake up call of the day and the sound of "BING BONG...This is an urgent call for a Mr Marc Jones to please make his way to gate 38, his aircraft is about to depart"!!
God knows where he was and god knows what he must have looked like, frantically running around the airport in search of 'Gate 38', but he made it in the nick of time and but for a few angry stares from passengers and cabin crew, he was safely ready for take off on seat 13A!
2-hours and 15-minutes later and he was reunited with his cousin and after wedging a $2 coin in the ticket machine, they returned Ria to work. Marc hopped in the driver seat of Dan's Nissan Skyline and let the automatic cruise him back to the house.
Back at 20 Gould Street, Marc had a little lunch and a little nap for the afternoon until Ria and old Danny boy returned from work. He caught up with the pair over a dish of bolognese, before our quiet evening was cut short by some of Ria's desirable friends who turned up out of the blue to announce they are having a baby.
Ria's pregnant friend told us all about it as she puffed away on her fags and her partner Tom (you know the type, straggly goatee with a mullet at the back) gabbled on endlessly from the moment he first arrived until the second he left...but no one understood a word of it!
Marc went to bed that night with a taste of what's to come on Saturday night and one incredibly annoying mosquito, trapped inside his room!
Tales From The Caravan
As unbelievable as it may be, it was actually sunny on the sunshine coast today! So I did what I do best and went to the beach!
First I went to Noosa Heads and tried the main beach, however, being valentines day in Noosa there was people walking around dressed as giant hearts! Couldn't handle the thought of waking up after a snooze on the beach to find a giant heart stumbling towards me, so I opted to go back to sunshine beach to escape the madness!
I spent most of the day chilling on the beach, which was great! It's a lovely beach and theres rarely any one else there. Reminded me alot of the beach at the back of our caravan park in Byron Bay. If I had a camera I would take some pictures of Noosa to replace some of the god dam footy ones! It really is nice, I absolutely love it!
On my way back I stopped off for a look around the shopping centre for a spot of window shopping. I've always been crap at window shopping, but I managed to restrain myself and only brought a chocolate cake. I know, shocking!
Day 120 (Thursday 15th February 2007)
Bye bye Bolton!!!!
Marc was up at 06:30, along with a rather hairy looking huntsman, to watch the live FA Cup replay between the mighty, mighty Gunners and Bolton at the Reebok Stadium. It was a mad, mad night of football, but Arsenal marched through to the fifth round!
What can you say about this Arsenal squad, they're totally outrageous! No Henry, Fabregas or Lehmann, an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old with just 26-matches of experience between at the helm of midfield and Gilberto at the back...and they still played our supposed bogey team off their own park!!!
Sublime is the word that comes to mind and even with their second string they produced a masterclass in passing, movement and individual brilliance...but sadly not in penalty taking! Two missed penalties and a host of chances could have sealed their victory long before, but this Arsenal side it would appear, enjoy putting their fans through it!
Marc was pleased to hear his mum and Steve getting behind the boys back home too when he phoned and he knows they would have been jumping for joy at the final whistle just like him, all be it on the otherside of the planet (and with a large time delay). Reminiscing that dribble from Aliadiere, the epic return of Freddie Ljungberg and the disappointment on big Sam's face, left Marc with the smuggest of faces for the rest of the day.
However, not quite so good news followed the game. Uncle Ian revealed he can't get any time off of work before he goes home a week today. Still, there's the party on Saturday and hopefully a bit of time Sunday when he'll definitely catch up with his old Unc.
Marc got out of the house for a bit and went down the shops. Boy was hit hot! It was so hot it was nearly impossible to sit in the car. You couldn't touch anything, the seat, the steering wheel, the gear stick and even the seatbelt stretched across his chest like 1300°C molten magma!
Later in the day Ria returned home, along with her dress for the engagement party. So that meant we had to go to her friend Amy's so she could try it on. Marc had met Amy once previously in Adelaide and while her and Ria pranced about with their dresses somewhere, Marc and Dan joined Amy's other half Mark for a beer.
With that excitement over we headed back home, picking up some bbq ribs and garlic bread on the way. Ria banged on about her dress some more (bless her) and we watched a bit of tv before bed.
Tales From The Caravan
Keeping in true form it rained again all night and was still raining when I woke up. So I went back to Noosa Heads to check out the shops in the hope that it would stop raining long enough to visit the beach as well.
Kaileah you would have been in heaven! I can honestly say I never in my life seen so many shoe and bag shops! And they were so much cheaper than back home, it's sickening! Unfortuantly though they were not cheap enough for me to buy any. So I made do with some cheap jewellery as a consolation!
It stopped raining just after lunch and so I made a dash for the main beach. Again it's another beautiful beach, just a few more people about. Atleast it gave me something to look at! I fell asleep on the beach and woke up feeling like my face had been fried for a few hours and so after a quick dip, and getting wiped out by a huge wave I went for a stroll in the national park on my way back to the car.
I got back to pikeyville just in time for Home and Away! After not watching it since I was about 7, I am fully addicted! and Alf Stewart is still in it!
P.S I realise that there are probably 1001 spelling mistakes and half of it probably dosen't make sense, but im afraid I have far more exciting things to do than check it all! So sorry but tuff! Love you all!!!
