Day 57 (Tuesday 12th December 2006)
It felt like one of those mind-numbingly cold winter mornings back home where you just can't face getting out of your duvet...probably much like the one you guys had back home today! However, what with the central heating blasting out, yours was probably warmer!
Armed once again with our beach towels, in the spirit of true whinging poms, we made our way back to Penneshaw to catch our ferry back to the mainland.
Along the way we dropped back into Sandy's place to settle our petrol bill from four days ago. She wasn't there unfortunately, so we slipped the money under the door.
We made up for having a fairly comfortable trip across the first time round with this, less than enjoyable experience. The 'Backstairs Passage' lived up to its reputation and we spent ninety stomach churning minutes crumpled up together in a heap!
How good it felt to reach dry land and once back at Cape Jervis, we managed to hold down some sarnies up at the viewpoint by the lighthouse.
We made it home to Ria and Dan's later that 'arvo'...Marc all proud of himself because he completed the journey without once having to turn around or consult a map!
We did some washing and let it dry in the crisp, warmer Adelaide heat. Ria and Dan returned home from work and we all ate steak whilst watching back some of our camcorder footage of our global travels.
Day 58 (Wednesday 13th December 2006)
Today was another of those lazy days. We got up early and phoned home and having seen that our financial position had not improved on the internet, we sat and sulked indoors.
Marc caught up on the footy, including Arsenal's fantastic point at Stamford Bridge at the weekend. All that with just a bunch of kids in defence and still without Thierry!
We left the house briefly to spend our last 20 bucks at the shops and send some Christmas cards home...so you'll probably see them some time next year then!
That evening we cooked Ria and Dan one of those massaman curries we loved so much in Thailand and passed the time watching some more from our adventures from around the world.
We sent Uncle Keith a text message with our new mobile number and asking if they were all ok, to add to the Christmas card we sent them this morning...so far no reply!
Tomorrow's the start of the third test and with us having no money to spend, Sarah's looking forward to a nice exciting day ahead...!
