After a gruelling 9 hour flight to Mumbai we had to endure another flight to Delhi. The hotel we had booked sent a taxi to the airport to collect us and to be honest after that journey and when we eventually saw where the hotel was located we were very glad of it. Situated in the Paraganj district just off the main bazaar it was what we'd expected Delhi to be like but maybe not prepared for it. The streets were narrow with shops and kiosks everywhere. We spent the night but after a sleepless night (as it was Saturday night at the end of Diwali) we decided to relocate to the more upmarket Connaught Place. This basically means it was 8 pound a night instead of 5.
For the rest of our time in Rajasthan we've decided to use some of our wedding money from all the lovely donations to treat ourselves to a personnal chauffeur. This was mainly due to it being festival season and the trains and buses were either busy of cancelled and also because it's our extended honeymoon so why not have some luxury. So after a whistle stop tour of Delhi with Hardeep taking us some lovely eateries and the Muhamur Tomb. Our net stop is Mandawa then Bikaner to visit the rat temple…..eek!
