Early morning start with a swim in the resort pool, very refreshing!
Wandered the Courthouse markets in the heart of Broome, lots of pearl shell ornaments, Kimberly rock jewelry, paw paws and buskers.
Explored two old pearling boats, looked at pearl jewelry and found a $45,000 Argyl diamond on show in one of the pearl shops. The Argyle diamonds are mined in Kunannara and very rare because of the natural pink color, the one we saw was the size of an ant!
Broome has a surprising Asian influence dating back to the early pearling years, they have honored this by a separate Japanese cemetery, Chinatown (which is a tiny alleyway), the best authentic Asian supermarket I have ever been in and lots of Asian restaurants.
When we drove to the Port we were stunned by the beauty and contrast of the gorgeous aqua water against the red sandy rocks. Absolutely stunning!
Checked out a local hovercraft that does beach tours, only one in the Southern Hemisphere. Booked for a ride on Monday as we cannot pass this opportunity!
In the evening we visited Cable Beach for the world famous sunset (along with 2000 other people), very pretty and great atmosphere!
Highlight today: visiting the Port and being stunned at the beauty!
