Firstly! What's the dealio with the job? To be fair it's an alright sitch! So I'm working in Chester Street Backpackers, a cute little 8 roomed house. I work 3 days a week for now, 2 of these days earn board which I'll tell you all about and the 3rd day makes me $70 which is covering food pretty much. So I actually don't live in a house and won't be for the next 2 months- I live in a bus in the backyard. It's pretty sweet! I have uploaded a virtual tour of my bus to Facebook! Its the shizzle! So what do I actually do? s***, change beds clean the bathrooms, lots of laundry and feed the cat- this is where a £9000 degree got me, more chores! I am loving being a host of the party though! I'm becoming pretty cosmopolitan :-) I didn't have a cup if tea this evening I had a hot lemon, honey and ginger!
Gosh! I didn't tell you where I am! I'm in Christchurch! Right next to a dear old friend, Jodie Tucker. This pretty little lady hasn't been so lucky till now- 6 years it took but I have officially visited her! And the rest of the beautiful Tucker family! I'm sorry but I'm invading Wednesday family nights :-) I will bring an attempted cake and wine :-)
I've been here in C-town for a few days now and seen very little due to work but the atmosphere is unreal to any other city I have been in. I can walk through the city for 10-15 minutes at night and not see anyone, every corner you turn there is another empty plot, 10 metres now the path and there is another massive crack, shops are more closed than open and it just carries on like this. I walked past someone's garden the other day and there was a hole in the ground! The city centre is still a red zone so you can't even enter it and houses that are unstable just have tape around their grounds. It's crazy! I happy to be here for the rebuilding of the Cashel shoppin mall as it's such a positive in this city. I'm excited what's next to come and its awesome on how creative they have become. Good example- there is a book fridge on an empty plot. A fridge? Yes! With books in? Yes! How cool! Honest exchange is all they ask for!
