Another amazing week in the beautiful country of New Zealand! I've just been missing one thing, the sound of my friend Carlin's voice! Stop earning money and call me already! I'm back at work after another fantastic weekend :-) I'm heaps browner too as the sun has been shining and I'm easily confused for a black person now! I have made some more German friends :-D Drove to Kaikoura and back in a 'borrowed' car! And spent the rest of the weekend with the pretty Jodie Tucker :-D Sooo... We watched loads of Big Bang Theory -definately one of the best shows ever!! We went to a party in Hagley park which was done by Coca Cola! It was awesome! Stan Walker was there singing his new release! They were also singing heaps of covers! Ending with Fireworks- Katy Perry, so I was obviously wetting myself with excitement! We also went to Riccarton Market and I had my hair braided! It's got some pink and blue braid now, I feel like a child! But I don't care, it's pretty! :-D Also headed into Re:Start on Cashel Street to find that they have opened up a pathway through Christchurch City Centre - the Red Zone, it is open for the public to go and view the Cathedral in the Cathedral Square. Whislt waiting in the line to walk through I notice a 'WARNING' board. The warning board stated some rules for this walk - obvious things like don't climb the barriers, don't make loud noises etc. But one caught my eye "Please carry ID on your person and not in your bag - remember this is still a danger zone"- s***ttt... they are expecting something to happen! Well, anyway, I went on this walk, it was very quiet just whispers of "so what used to be there?" and "I was in that building in the February earthquake" and "I know someone who died there", so I wasn't in there long and I took no photos. I had a stare at the Cathedral and departed. The Cathedral is a mess, the top half collapsed in on itself and there are sections that are about to fall off but are being kept up with steel bars, and you can see through the cracks and windows that the building is full of itself.
Well, a happier note! I have booked to hire a car for a few days after I finish work and I am going to drive the South Island for a few days. Also, Miss Jodie Tucker has agreed to my driving buddie, which I am totally psyched about! It has been incredible to see her again and I am so happy she is coming for the ride :-D We're going to have one hell of a good time!
Peace out, be safe and love one another!! Jayyy xoxo
