My little sister asked me a few questions and I thought they were pretty awesome Q's so I thought I'd share them with you all.
1 - Being in New Zealand is it what you expected? I'm not sure what I expected - it's such a beautiful country, and not only that the people here are also just as amazing. The culture shock of how relaxed they are kinda bugged me at first, but now I fit right in. No one is ever in a rush to get somewhere or anything. They get there when they get there attitude. It's incredible to be here and experience such a completely different lifestyle. You kinda learn that everything can be done differently!
2 - Do you enjoy your job or is it just something you have to do? he job is okay, this week is starting to get to me but that is just because I'm here for 7 days in a row I think, and I can't leave the hostel 9am - 9pm so I have been going out to the shops and McD's after work to pick up stuff I need like milk, veg and mostly to be out of the hostel I think. I like it more than dislike and thats defs a positive. I love hosting mostly, as it's just me and the travellers that check in, we can fit only 15 backpackers at a time, so it's a cosy place to be and so personal as I get to talk to everyone heaps. I have heaps of new friends, funny actually most of them are German
3 - What do you miss from England, Stoke - Apart from Family and Nikki and Galaxy bars? Mostly I miss my car! Then there are a few other things, hula hoops, mashed potato, chinese takeaways, biscuits (they aren't sweet enough here) lie-ins, have a routine, having something to work on like at uni- I kinda miss that sense of work. I miss the people from the Swan, they're a pretty awesome group of people! And my friends from uni.
5 - How is the tea over there? It's pretty much the same, however Mama Trin (Carlin's mama) has her tea with no milk and only dips the teabag in, it still amazes and stuns me that she has her tea that way! It's ewwww!!
6 - Have you treated yourself to anything nice recently?Yes! I'm going to Dunedin for the weekend, and before this I treated myself to a day at the races. But I haven't bought myself anything recently like clothes etc. I don't need them, and my money is better spent on something else
7 - Are you looking forward to anything - in weeks ahead?s***! Loads of things, firstly I am looking forward to trying Sushi with Jodie sometime this week. Then I have Dunedin. Then the next few weeks that is stuff going on in the city which I'll do! Erm, in Decemeber I'm going to get Jodie down to Queenstown and we're going to bungee! Then I have my little roadtrip back to the Peterson's house to look forward. Then there is Christmas, New Year, OZ, then America. See Auntie Josie and Uncle Mike, then San Fran with Katie, VEGAS with Nicole and all the incredible things I'm going to do when I get back to the UK. And all the stuff inbetween
8 - Have you learnt anything? What have I learnt?! s***tt -- thanks to the Peterson lifestyle I learnt to share mostly. I defs wouldn't care if you eat my chocolate bar now or wore my nicest clothes. I can always just buy another one. Other things are I have learnt are that possessions are silly, like the big expensive ones.Stress is un-ness most of the time. I have learnt that being alone isn't too scary and that not loving someone is okay and it's okay if they don't love you - you aren't the perfect person for everyone you know. Just accept and move on. I'm really easy!! Trying to make the most of everything is really hard but I am still trying!
Love talks with my sister. Finlee, I can't wait to take to you Canada/Vietnam! I love you xoxo
