Woke up at 7:00 am but I could have slept longer as the bedrock bed kept me up the night before. We decided that today we were going site seeing with or without Surjio whom we tried to get a hold of to no avail. We waited until we saw Dr. Malek, there are eyes and ears everywhere here as he knew that last night Jason and Dustin had had a beer in the parking lot. He had good humour about it, he told Dustin that he had bought the wrong kind of beer and let him know what to buy next. He also told us that tomorrow was a holiday and a dry day where no alcohol would be sold or consumed. I told Dr. Malek that we were planning to go to the Museum and he told us to go to the Aga Kahn Palace instead and then the girls at the desk told us to go shopping at the Pune Camp Mall. We grabbed Dustin and promised Julie we would bring her something good to eat and get a few gifts for their family.
Jason finally got to go for his Rickshaw ride, it was tight with the three of us in there, the boys on the outside and me in the middle. We did really good telling the drivers where we wanted to go until the last trip from the ABC farms back to the hospital. That guy didn't know how to find the hospital so we ended up crossing the same bridge three times. Finally I said near the Big Bizarre and he got it and took us straight there. Land marks more than addresses are used to tell the drivers where you want to go.
We went to the Aga Kahn Palace first which is the place that Gandi and his wife stayed after being arrested. His wife died their and so did his secretary. We saw where they kept him etc. It was very nice and later we went to the chapel area where their was a gift shop. Jason went strolling past the chapel a bit and all of a sudden the guard started blowing his whistle. Jason turned as he found out the guard didn't want him going any further. He was checking out another area when the whistle went off again, so finally Jason came back to where we were. While making our purchases from the gift shop another tourist evidently went too far as well and the guard found in necessary to blow his whistle again.
From there we went shopping at the Pune Camp Mall. There were some great shops here and I wish I had come here first but still managed to pick up a few things. Now we were hungry, starving for some good food. That morning while searching the net for interesting places to go I found the ABC Farm that sounded interesting, so away we went. The ABC farm was great and consisted of a green area with five restaurants and an Ayurvedic Clinic. Before eating we had stopped in at the Clinic to inquire about getting Jason a massage. The gentleman doctor was very nice, told us the treatments that he would try on Jason consisting of a consult, masage and steam treatment that would cost about 2000 Rupees, not bad. Before we left he showed up the rooms that people could rent to stay right there and receive their treatments. It was very cool, but we were starving so we went back to the first restaurant we saw and ordered delicious food. My greek salad was to die for and I tasted an India Shiraz wine that was very nice. The boys had some ice cream type drinks that were delicious. After our meal we caught a Rickshaw but we were on the wrong side of the road so I motioned to the driver that he had to pull a U turn. That is exactly what he did which caused Jason to lean into me hoping no vehicles hit his side of the Rickshaw, Dustin had to put his elbows in a few times also, traffic is absolutely nuts.
Check out the pictures as Dr. Nutan and I did make the India Times, I was super excited when I saw the article. Dr. Nutan stopped in to see us but we were both tired when we returned and had to have a nap. Hopefully tomorrow Surjio comes by as it will be a holiday, we will see. Pray for Julie as she will be having another treatment tomorrow and she still dosen't feel great from the last one.
