Spring Festival 2012: Harri does Hong Kong, Hangzhou & Hainan (island) :) !
Greetings everyone & Happy New Year, or Xin Nian Hao ! The tail end of December and most of January so far have been v.busy for me, as it's Spring festival or Chinese New Year time over here at the moment, which is similar to Christmas in that it's a busy, hectic time for the shops, getting things organised and especially travel. It's also like Xmas in that once people have travelled, it's usually to spend time with their families before going back to work, as this is the biggest national holiday of the whole year.
So, after Christmas & the Graduation party season was over, my family came to visit me in Pingxiang for New year, followed by a few days in Hong Kong where I spent my birthday :) after which I travelled back to Pingxiang, had a day to re-arrange my suitcase then I went to Hangzhou for 3 days, followed by an epic 15 hour coach journey back to Pingxiang via Changsha, another 2 day pitstop before a last minute trip to Hainan Island. Phew!
I'm now back in Pingxiang after returning from the warmth of Sanya (Hainan) which is a bit of a shock to the system but ready to re-count my Spring festival travels - how I got on in each place, sights I've seen, why an old Chinese lady was my roommate for 5 nights & why in Hangzhou a German guy got his nuts out on the bus...
