HARBIN, Heilongjiang Province:
After no sleep and a long wait in the hotel lobby, we finally got on the bus to the train station - but our bus was late, so we had to rush once we got there! We JUST made it in time for the train, but I was so tired, and my bag was so heavy!
The train was manically busy, so it took a while to find a seat, but once I did I fell straight to sleep.
Eventually the stop for Shenyang came along, so I said goodbye to the Shenyang lot as they left the train... it was so sad! But I'm sure I'll see them all again.
When we finally arrived in at Beijing train station, Sarah and I were introduced to Miss Cao.
Miss Cao got a bit lost trying to get out of the station, which would have been funny if we weren't carrying such heavy bags! We finally got to the car, and after an hour's drive we arrived at the school.
We were introduced to the Dean - Mrs Liu, and the Dean's Assistant - Mr Mang, who both seem lovely. Unfortunately they haven't sorted our apartment yet, so we're staying in a hotel for a few days until they find us one.
We were taken to the hotel room, it's not great I have to say! It's pretty small, and quite dirty, with no storage space and a minging bathroom... But it'll be fine for a few days - we've got too used to Heilongjiang University Hotel's luxury!
We dumped our stuff in the room and met Miss Cao, Mrs Liu and Mr Mang on the second floor of the hotel for dinner. We told them that we were both vegetarians (I'm so glad I've been placed with another veggie - it'll make things so much easier!) and they ordered us TONS of food to eat!
It was delicious, but I ate far too much!
