Busy day again today. This morning we went to some disease free buffalo which had been tested for TB last week but needed to be checked for the result. We couldn't really do anything to help as we had been in a foot and mouth zone with the giraffe so had to stay away from the buffalo to prevent any chance of passing it on. They also had to load some buffalo into a trailer, which was a bit of a disaster as the workers didn't really have any common sense, didn't get the blindfold on it and there was a huge gap down the side of the trailer which it obviously ran down. Well at least I learned how NOT to load buffalo!
We also dehorned 5 more rhino. Most went according to plan, apart from when a mother refused to leave her calf which we had darted so we had to dart her too and dehorn them both. I'm still rubbish at putting in catheters. Oh well, practice makes perfect I guess!!
