National Park to Wellington - Friday 2ndto Saturday 3rdDecember 2011
This is really where the fun really began!
With Wellington being the capital of New Zealand we were really in for and guaranteed evening of drinking and making some shapes (and Georgie had plenty of them) on the dance floor. Until now it has been full on early mornings and long days, but Wellington offered us the break we'd been waiting for.
In the afternoon we chilled out in the city and also went man hunting in 'New World' ;-) The supermarket is famous for singles on the hunt, and the why in which you indicate your status……sit bananas upright in your basket of course!
The evening started with a $5 beer and all you can eat pizza (Choice!), before heading into town to see the night in until the early hours. The photo's tell all, but for Jane it was all about what goes on tour stays on tour' ;-)
I have no comment for what occurred following pizza ;-)
On Saturday I experienced my first earth quake. Patiently waiting for Georgie to cook dinner and sitting on the third floor of the Base Hostel - I was chatting away to Marleen when the whole building waved side to side. It was a really strange feeling with a lot of worried looks on everyone's face. Apparently it was 40km away and a 5.7. This thankfully was the only offering from mother nature.
New Zealand's Wellington treasure was the 'Te Papa Tongarewa' museum, and probably one of the best museum's I've ever visited. A maze of different sights and sounds to keep you entertained, it really was brilliant and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.
