Mount Isa, Queensland
We are staying at mount isa for at least another night or two because our friends, mick and Kathy, who are coming from Darwin, have got a hole in their petrol tank. They need to have it welded up so instead of meeting them at lawn hill they have to drive an extra 1,000 klms to get it fixed. we changed caravan parks because we were sharing it with mine workers, who start about 3am and planes that start at 4am and builders that started at 6am, building new units in the park, consequently, little sleep. However this park is much quieter so far and has tourists like us, mostly grey nomads. They're a friendly lot and our mate wazza is happy to oblige with a chat. We went to visit a fossil interpretive centre today and learnt about the dinosaurs that used to live here 30,000 years ago. It was a chance to catch up on washing, shopping and relaxing under the beautiful shady trees. We are going fishing late this arvo as the boys had a chat with locals and bought the right gear and found the right spot, we'll see! By the way they had no luck with barra yesterday! We'll let you know when we move on. The fishing was interesting no barra but one wet, bruised and grazed fisherman. Someone slipped off the rocks and fell in the water rod, wallet and all, all were retrieved but he has strained his side which was just getting better from a few days ago.

A Cheeky Friend Is it time to get a new hobbie?
Theresa I can just imagine Grumpy falling off the rocks! The miners caravan park didn't sound like much fun at all hope you have a couple of relaxing days there you have been on the go since you left so it's probably nice to stay put and smell the roses (if they grow any up there)
