66 miles today in 5 hours 54 minutes of riding time. Our day of course was longer because of rest stops and fuel stops.
The ride through the "Avenue of Giants" was beautiful and relaxing, notice traffic, shady and cool. We eventually arrived at Meyers Flat to check in at the only campsite around.
The town of Meyers Flat is an odd place. It's quite run down in appearance, the people are not very welcoming or friendly. Even the guy checking us in at the campground thought he was doing us a huge favor. The ones we met who were friendly were not the type I would choose to be friends with! I think we are in the Ozarks of California.
The grocery store had very few groceries. I don't know what people eat around here, but I think I know what they smoke - judging from the appearance of the locals hanging out in front of the local bar.
We were happy to leave the town and stick close to our campsite. It was a night that I would have liked to lock up my bike except I couldn't find the lock :(
Thankfully we will be out of here tomorrow.
