The next morning we left La Spezia by train to St Margherita where we stored our luggage and took an hour walk into the town of Portofino which is know for the international jet-setting tourists. It's another by the sea town and our group went for a 1.5hr kayak around the cliff face. I wasn't feeling 100% so I got to be the bag minder; sitting in the sun on the beach and eating my lunch in that time was not all bad :) After the kayak we all went on another small trek into the town centre of Portofino where we roamed around for 45mins until the ferry arrived. This place is expensive!! We now know why it's known the the international jet-setters, cha-ching. The ferry arrived (was about 4pm now) and we left Portofino back towards St Margherita were we had gelato (it's the thing to do in Italy :p) and walked back to the train station to retreive our luggage. We then took the train to Asti where we arrived at our hotel at 8pm. Dinner was at 9pm at nice little restuarant around the corner where I had again, a great slow cooked veal with potatoes whilst Matt tried ravioli stuffed with donkey meat (yes, donkey) and steak with salad. Matt said he wouldn't be rushing back to eat the donkey meat ha ha.
