Today we all got up about 6am to pack the final bits of the camp left out, hitch the caravan to the car and make the long journey home.
I had slept in the car with all the seats folded down with Diggor due to having packed the tent away, and hadn't really slept, so waking up early was a chore.
We left the campsite at 7am on the dot. The 40km of offload and single track tarmack to the main road from the camp was beautiful. There was still all the mist having over the long grass and the bottoms of the surrounding mountains/gorges. Also being early before the heat of the day there were lots of animals to see, like eagles etc.
All the way back we followed the same stops as on the way, but didn't stay in any longer than 15 minutes, just to grab food or go to the loo.
We arrived back home about 5:30pm, making it a 10 hour trip, with probably an hour lost in stops in total. We watched a couple of movies and listened to music in the car though so it wasn't too bad.
We got back and unloaded the vital bits of the car and caravan, before taking Maddie back to her house and staying for dinner. I must admit it was great to have a meal inside sat round a table again..
We left and came home about 9:30pm, and everyone just crashed and went to bed, exhausted from the travelling. I flicked through Facebook to see all of Tom's prom photos on there. It was very strange to think it was actually 3 years since I did it, but other than the year group it all looked very similar at Grittleon as the venue. Old Tom looked good in a suit though, which will suit him when it he is an accountant or something when he's older!
