2nd Full Day -
I looked out my tent at 8am to see it was still pissing it down with rain, and there was no chance of going on a walk, so I just laid in bed until everyone was up.
When I could hear everyone around I got up and had a coffee, then went over to the comunial cooking/eating area with Mark and Mark to cook up a huge breakfast - eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, beans, sausages etc.
By the time we had all finished breakfast it was it was about 10:45am. The parents went back to the tents and
I stayed with the kids and taught them all how to play s*** head, the card game from Spot X!
We played cards for a few hours as it was still raining, then went back over to camp and I just had some fruit and rice for 'lunch' as I felt fat from breakfast.
After lunch the rain actually stopped for the first time in over 24 hours, so we all went off on little walks around the camp. I went with Cecily and Maddie to the 'look out' point as everyone was faffing about. Walking though the camp it was like a swamp! We got to the look out and even with the low clouds over the mountains it was still quite an amazing view.
The others met us there, and we went for a walk down to the creek. We were hoping to go and look for Platypus, but the rain had made the water so murky there was no chance. Instead we made piles of stones into towers like on holidays back home, and threw stones to knock them over.
The rain started again, surprise surprise so we we went for a walk to keep warmer. We walked through the river bed round to the where the cars have to cross the river to get in and out of the camp. Standing there it was apparent the water was rising, and it's much much higher on the upstream side, so we may well be stuck in here soon!
When I played football and rugby in the mud with the boy kids as I was fed up of hiding from the rain. As expected we all got soaked and muddy, but it was really good fun and kept us entertained for ages.
We all had showers and then just chilled out and played s*** head until dinner.
For dinner we cooked burgers etc over in the comunial area again, played some more cards and had a few beers.
When we got bored of that all 10 of us came back and sat in the caravan playing music on the portable speakers and having a few more beers / glasses of wine (for those old enough, obviously).
Once again when it's dark and wet at 9am and you have got up early everyone is tired again, so we all went to bed.
