Well hello
Yesterday Sheila (one of my room mates who is a Brit) & I went over to Granville Island market, this place is fantastic they've got massive stalls of fresh fruit, vegies, meat, fish and bread. ooh I had the best cheese cake ever from there. There is some amazing art work as well twas very impressive and i'm not one to really look at that stuff. The Brits have excellent sense of humours, we've been in fits of laughter although don't think our other roomies have appreciated it much. (one of the girls had been coughing a lot & we joked bout how she might give us bird flu haha oops).
I had Poutine(said as Pooteen, & yes i'm immature & laugh at the fact its called that) for dinner the other night, it's fries, gravy & cheese curds. Its not to bad. There are tons of films that are filmed here in Vancouver all the time, I was lucky enough to see filming on Howie st by Canada place when I was walking back to the hostel.
Today went & did another day tour with Sarah. This time it was of Lynn Canyon, more stunning scenery. Erik our tour guide was like oh no not you two together again, as we had already started with the giggling & cracking of dirty jokes between us. Typical me wore inappropriate foot wear again, haha wore my jandals. It absolutely pissed down for 30min in the rain forest (guess thats why its called that duh) got soaked & my feet all muddy. We went across another suspension bridge, this one was really skinny & swung a lot which at first was funny but then was s****ing myself as Erik told us stories bout people going over the edge & dying. Then when we walked back across I grabbed on to Sarah & was like if I go down your coming with me haha.
Saw other areas of Vancouver to, saw Gastown which is named after Gassy Jack and no its not because he farted a lot lol. Gastown is a kind of artsy, hippy kind of area. Also saw Chinatown which is like the 3rd largest in North America (how's those facts for ya). Went into a traditional chinese garden & saw gigantic gold fish they were like a metre or so long. Got a bit to excited when I saw those.
After the tour Sarah & I looked around some shops.......trying real hard to restrain myself from buying stuff before I get a job. Went for dinner at a Japanese restaurant was quite good, Sarah had to teach me to use the chop sticks & just about pee'd herself laughing at me. I feel quite cultured now haha. Anyway Sarah's off to Vancouver Island then on to Europe but we switched email addresses & will catch up again somewhere in our travels so the nutty Aussie & Kiwi will be together again.
Just some random observations....... there are a lot of women road workers here, I mean like tons. As well as the seagulls have funny sqawks, I wonder if its because they have Canadian accents....hhmmm haha. And no one knows what Jandals are I mean no one so it must just be a kiwi thing to call them that.
This one was quite long, sorry. Hope everyone is all good back home :)
