Up and out of camp at 715am. Stopped in Paeroa-famous for L&P-a magnesium rich lemon water. Oh and Speights-a good beer:) Paeroa is also known for its' antique shops (though there was none of that today)!
Brief stop in Hamilton which used to host some world cup rugby games and formula car racing. Overcast and rainy today but a welcome break in the weather.
Still finding it challenging to know which way the cars are coming from when crossing the road, plus, do I walk on the left hand side of the sidewalk as well? Perplexed but in a good way:)
Arrived in Raglan town. Our hostel is along the coast so no Internet here which is refreshing-funny how much I rely on having it theses days. Like being unplugged for a bit.
The original hostel did not have enough beds so we volunteered to come to An Eco friendly hostel down the road. Score! It is up in the hilltop overlooking the beach. Made up of old railway cars w/the caboose being the kitchen/meeting room. Big Buddha in the centre with hammocks-bonus:)
Sometimes the reward is in taking the chance:) My new slogan!
Another one is 'take the rough with the smooth' thanks to Ross from the UK (hadn't heard that one before)....I like it a lot:)
There are 2 girls from Switzerland-Daisy and Annie staying in our cabin tonight. They recently travelled in Australia for 6 weeks with a campervan-very popular here as well.
Our driver is from Wales-has worked and lived in NZ for over 2 years driving; working at the ski resorts. He has his Mom and Aunt visiting right now on the bus with us!! Too cute.
Tonight, Marlos and I are going on the sunset cruise. Plan to hang out and relax until then....couldn't think of a better place to relax right now:) Aaahh-exhale!!
