Oh how I love Kaikoura! This is again, mother nature at her finest. Crystal green water, flat stone beaches, snow-capped mountains on one side. Spectacular place to be for my last 3 days in NZ....
I went sea kayaking on Saturday afternoon! Paddled for about 3 hours-I think there were 10 of us all together. Saw pods of Orca whales feeding along the rockline; watched a seal eat an octopus that it just caught for about 15 mins. So interesting! Also saw blue penguins floating on the water....best excursion yet:) Clear skies, sunshine-I love being out on the water! Very peaceful....
Yesterday, had a relaxing and rejuvenating day. Sat on the beach and read, journalled, listened to music, walked, got my hair done (such a treat) & ate scallops for dinner on a patio with a tasty cold beverage:) Watched the sunset from the hostel deck-Aahhh!
Have been going to the same cafe for the past 3 days for breakfast (Groper cafe). Have had a ham, cheese and tomato croissant (toasted) with hollandaise sauce-yummy! With a long black-of course:) I could eat that for breakfast everyday....
Today is a bit cloudy. Going to read and relax some more. Perhaps take in the Hobbit tonight at the theatre to round out my last night in NZ:)
This trip has been fabulous. I am leaving here with so much more than I came with:) Full of gratitude, calmness, happiness, contentment and memories.
Thank-you New Zealand....
