Up early for coffee at Esquires
Organic fair trade cafe. Sat for a bit and watched the world go by.
Took a cab to another hostel since I wasn't able to let Stray know where to pick me up on time.
Dutch girls are on the bus today:) 2 more days with them and then I am on my own again. Brief stop at the Stray office before heading south to Thames for some groceries, then to our camp in Hahei. It is a holiday resort campground with many kiwi families here camping and staying in cabins. School is out,
so most places have been busy.
Once we unpacked our things in our 9 bunk cabin, we headed for the beach. Again, yet another incredible sight in NZ! Aqua blue waters, clear sunny sky, always a nice breeze....hiked for about 2&1/2 hours along the cliff to get to Cathedral's Cove. Breathtaking. Sat on the beach a bit before returning back to camp.
Just before dinner, we went to Hot Water beach. Tourist trap for sure but basically, during low tide, when you dig a hole in the sand, it fills with water and if you immerse yourself in it, then it feels like a hot tub. Neat, but too crowded for my liking.
Back at camp, 50 of us had a BBQ and then went to bed early. Headed to Raglan in the morning....
