Sanja is Josip's daughter. She is delightful, young & has just returned from a long holiday at the beach in Kavran, Istria. We were all happy to see each other again.

In the late afternoon we drove up the hill past Matija's (Sanja's boyfriend) place where we could look out over the valley & enjoy the view. Here the distant hills are dotted with houses and fields of corn as well as many vineyards. At the top of the hill is a church that only holds 4 masses each year. - at Christmas time and during the pilgrimages. Nearby is a fireplace designed for BBQs & spits. Apparently during pilgrimages the whole hill is covered by parked cars & a semitrailer is brought in to house the drinks & food that is sold & consumed in massive quantities. A house on the grounds has toilets downstairs & is used as a store for the many tables & bench seats when there is a gathering on the grounds.

We enjoyed a bite to eat & a drink or two after which we headed back home to continue drinking & chatting.
