Tuesday 1st March – Den dropped us off at Lakeside so we could catch the train into Perth for a wander round the shops. Extremely hot again today. Had a satay lunch in the shopping centre and decided to catch the train to Fremantle and spend the rest of the day there. As the train came in to the station we had a great view of the ship Queen Elizabeth in dock. Had a cool drink in a roadside bar and wandered round until 4.30 where we met Judy and Barry in the car park to go to the view point for the ship which was in the industrial dock area. Found a boulder to sit on and waited. The first cruise ship went out at just after 5pm and the QE went out at 6.30 in the end. Wow what a sight, we were just feet away from it going out of the dock, we couldn’t have asked for a better seat. We were issued purple flags to celebrate purple haze day in collaboration with the dock and send off of QE. Watched the ship sail into the sunset. Beautiful!!!!!. J,B and A and me went to Hillarys for a fish and chip supper as it was now getting late in the day. Went back to J&B for a drink and to fix the final laptop on the list! All done. Had a lovely evening and J&B dropped us off back at D&R at 9.50pm. Oh, the suitcase is mended so should be okay for the trip back. They are so expensive here, so that saved us a number of dollars!.
