Monday 28th February – Dave popped round and we went to Lakeside to get the train to Perth Esplanade. We caught the City Sightseeing Bus to have a tourist view of Perth. Very very hot on the top of the bus. Filled an hour or two, did the complete circuit and returned to the Esplanade. Wandered up to the city and found somewhere to have a bit to eat and a cool drink. Wandered up to Perth Mint and watched them make gold bullion bars, a very good place to visit. Shop was amazing and watching the public buy and sell gold in the gold bank. Thought about buying but a little out of our price range........ Caught the train back to Lakeside but got stuck a few times on the track as the heat was affecting the lines (+40 C). Finally got back to Lakeside at 4.30ish. Den left us at Lakeside so we could have a browse around the shops, which promptly shut at 5.30. Saw a couple of replacement suitcases for Ade but holding off in case Barry can mend the handle on the old one. Caught the bus back to the house.
