Sunday 27th February – Woke up early to get in the Great Wall to start our hour and a bit drive to York. Rob and Denise have a piece of land there. Stopped off at Hungry Jacks in Mundaring for brekkie, a breakfast wrap and coffee. Arrived there after lunch but not hungry and breakfast was still sat in the belly. Saw the devastation around from the cyclone there a few weeks ago. It must have been awful sitting there with nowhere to go and seeing it rip through houses. We all set about the task of watering the baby trees on the land. The temp here is 41.5 degrees, wow!!! And wow for the views from the land too. The town of York is very quaint; it reminded me of a wild west town. Had a walk through the town and caught some live acoustic music, so sat and drank whilst watching. He was very good and lovely to listen to. Returned to the car and drove down to Lake Nationale, could only walk around and have an ice cream as the lake was poisonous from a suspected virus in the water from it being so stagnant. Drove down to Mundaring Wier (a dam really) and walked across to the other side. It was like being blasted in the face by a hot hairdryer, where the wind was being pushed up the concrete dam, then superheated as it hit you. Incredible...
