Today we spent the day with Dave and Vanessa at Universal Studios on Sentosa Island. We had an absolutely fantasic day, the weather was superb and it was just so much fun. I definitely recommend visiting here if you are keen for a bit of theme park action and entertainment.
We had a yummy cooked breckie at home before heading out and catching a taxi to the MRT that we then had to change lines for two stops before hopping on the monorail across to the Island. There was so much to see and do there but I'm pretty sure we covered everything worthwhile. Infact, near the end we did a few of our favourite rides again and managed to get in the front row of the bigger/scarier rollercoaster. I was really quite nervous about the rollercoasters at first because it has been years since I have been on one and these ones were much bigger than I've ever seen. Surprisingly I ended up loving them and they definitely got my adrenilin pumping!
We left Sentosa at about 8:00pm and caught the MRT to Chinatown where we met Glenn Alexander for a meal because he was in Singapore for business. Dave and Vanessa took us to a very authentic Chinese restaurant that was right in the heart of Chinatown so it was a neat atmosphere and stunning food. They wanted me to try the famous pepper crab that is a real delicacy for the Chinese and I now know why because it was simply sensational. It is served as a whole crab so you have to break it up and get all the meat out so it's pretty messy but well worth it. All the other dishes were so fresh and delicious too and once again we were very impressed with the high quality food here. We had such a nice evening together and it was so great to catch up with Glenn.
We caught a taxi home and have all had showers before hopping into bed. It has been a big day and Davie has to catch a plane to Sydney early in the morning for work. So it was farewell to Dave tonight because he isn't back until next Thursday and we leave for London on Monday. There's a possibility we may see him in London early August because he's bought some tickets to a couple of events at the Olympics and is really keen to go. There are a few things him and Vanessa need to sort out before it's definite but we'll cross our fingers that we may see them again very soon!
Three more sleeps and we're off to London! We are looking forward to making the most of our last couple of days in Singapore before our next big adventure begins.
