Our day started with a yummy breakfast at home thanks to Vanessa! We had her famous perfectly cooked poached eggs, with spinach on toast and for the meat eaters bacon on the side. Amazing start to the day!
We then caught a taxi to the 'Jurong Bird Park' where we spent the rest of the day and I have to say it was incredible. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I will put an album in my photos of some of the pictures we took and this will give you an idea of the experience we had. This is the only way I can show you how truely amazing this was!
At the park we went to a show called 'Kings of the Skies' which was very impressive! It was a journey back in time to learn about the ancient art of falconry. It was a display of agility and sharp-eyed accuracy as nature's best flying hunters unleashed their predatory instincts. The birds were trained and knew exactly what they had to do which was unbelieveable to watch.
Jurong Bird Park is the world's largest bird paradise and there is 5,000 birds across 380 species to see. You must visit here if you are in Singapore because you will be stunned!
After the 'King of the Skies' show we went to the 'World of Darkness' enclosure where we could see all the different types of Owls. They are such amazing creatures!
When we got out to the front of the park ready to leave we realised that it was going to be far to hard and an extremely long wait to get a taxi home so we decided to catch a bus (found a cheap shuttle) and then get the MRT (Mass Rapid Transport - like the subway or the tube, but much cleaner, faster and reliable in Singapore). At the other end of the MRT, there is a free shuttle from the MRT station to the mall across the road to Dave and Ness's place.
That evening we went to another favorite local eatery of Vanessa and Dave's, 'Jai Thai' and it definitely was somewhere I would go back to! No wonder they have become regular customers because the food was so fresh, cheap and delicious!
We have another exciting day planned for tomorrow! Watch this space!
