We have arrived in Singapore safe and sound. The flight was okay but service wasn't great at all. They also ran out of meals and we hadn't found anything to take on before we got to the gate so snacks it was. We learnt from this mistake! Silly Jetstar! Andrew wasn't very well on the flight- his sinuses going crazy which gave him a head ache and his nose was red and raw by the end of the flight. We are not quite sure what triggered it but will make sure we take more medicine on board next time because most was in his check in bag.
When we arrived we grabbed our bags and headed to the taxi's which was the easiest and non-expensive way to get to Dave and Vanessa's apartment. The taxi ended up being just over $20 so very reasonable! The heat and humidity knocked us a bit but we will get used to it I'm sure! It is weird that it is way hotter inside than out. Air conditioning is a must!
When we got to the apartment, Dave came down and met us and we dropped our bags off, had a quick drink with them before heading down the road for a meal at one of their favourite casual local restaurants. Food was superb!
Vanessa is taking us into town tomorrow and we will meet Dave at lunch time. She's got a few things planned to show us so that will be neat! Dave and Vanessa bought us tickets to go on the 'Singapore Flyer' for our Birthdays so that'll be fabulous to do one evening next week. Aparently it's amazing to go on this in the evening to see all the beautiful city lights. So many other things we want to fit in too so we will look at passes we can get and plan our days. It's all go and we can't wait to explore!
I hardly slept last night but that's normal for me when everything around me is different and my mind is still buzzing with all sorts of things. So the Journey Begins!
