After having a bit of a sleep in we had some breckie then headed out for another day of exploring Singapore. Today we thought we would visit the places that we both want to see before we leave. We started with Orchard Road which was well worth a look but to be honest we didn't really want to spend too much time here because everything was too expensive and we didn't go there to shop. The Malls were huge and all the top brands were there but it was a little bit mind boggling.
We then caught the MRT into the city centre because we wanted to see this for the last time. It was quite exciting actually because there was a rehearsal taking place in the bay for Singapore National Day Parade so there was heaps of people around and lots of entertainment. Time just flew by and before we knew it dinner time came around. We had decided we were going to go to Little India for dinner so we hopped on the MRT again changing lines twice to get there. We really have the public transport sorted now and feel quite proud of ourselves.
Little India was fascinating and we wished we had visited here earlier because we probably would have tried to go back. Anyway we walked the streets and checked out a few of the little stalls and shops along the way. It was an incredible atmosphere with lots of people around. We came across a jungle theme restaurant called the Jungle Tandoor and we decided we would have dinner there. All the waiters and waitresses were dressed in safari costumes and the interior was like we were actually in a jungle. Their was model animals and vines and the table and chairs were like tree trunks. The currys were very tasty and the service was top notch so all in all we had a wonderful evening.
One more day left now! We are going to have a very low key day tomorrow and get all packed up and ready to go to London. We leave at 6:45am so we have to be up very early Monday morning. Vanessa has suggested we go for a walk down to the beach near the apartment in the afternoon and we will go out for dinner to one of our favourite restaurants we went to on the 2nd night, Din Tai Fung. We have to have dumplings on our last night here!
We have had such an amazing time in Singapore and we are so pleased that we stopped here. It was so nice staying with Dave and Vanessa and it was about the perfect amount of time.
Goodbye Singapore! London here we come!
