Getting closer to Boliviar, we were to set off this morning at 7.30 for puno. Bianca and I were the first to breakfast. Katia showed up having not slept at all from the night out and the others were slowly trickling in. By the time we were walking up to our minibus that was to take us to the main bus station, there was still no sign of Sabi or Harj. Raoul went and knocked on their door... Which was lucky as that was what woke them up. We then got stuck in traffic and were pretty late getting to the main bus station. Luckily, our bus to puno was also running late, so we still made it. If it had left on time, we would have missed it by a country mile! Close call!! It was the six hours to puno - no stops. Most of us dozed on the way there... I read a book that Danielle lent me "getting there" all about a lone female traveller. Pretty good. Finally we arrived, dumped our bags and went straight to get some food. On the way back we wandered through the markets and Brad, Danielle and I went for a city tour on a motorized rickshaw. What we saw of Puno was a pretty weird mix of tourist attractions and poverty. Anyhow we are off to lake Titicaca tomorrow so it was an early night ready for another early start.
