Had a massive sleep in after Death Road and met everyone for breakfast at 10 at Oliver's Travels - an English pub. Sabi brought Ed the Englishman and I ordered up big. Made it to Burro Biking by 7.30 this morning for the trip up to the top of Death Road. It took over an hour - which is because it starts at over 5000m. We got to the top and kitted up with all of our protective gear including a full face helmet, got briefed by our instructors before setting off. The first part was all asphalt and pretty easy going...though my bike wouldn't go fast enough :(. For the rest of the 64km, it was all off road, down some pretty stee...

Another bus trip today! Ergh! We got to the bus station at half seven and again our bus was late. After finally getting on, we drove three hours to the border, where we had to be cleared by police and then by immigration before getting through to Bolivia!! The boarder is still on lake Titicaca and is really picturesque. We had a hurried lunch at the most dreadful place and they took so long preparing our food that we almost missed our connecting bus into La Paz....

Up at 6.30 for breakfast at 7. Got served the delicious mint tea again, with some fluffy rolls and jam. This morning we took bicycle rickshaws down to lake Titicaca where we met up with another intrepid group to do our visit to the floating reed islands. These places are amazing. They are actually floating islands which the people build from the reeds. Every 100 years, they abandon the island as it will touch the bottom of the 280m deep lake (they keep piling new reeds on top). When it touches the bottom, it won't float anymore, so the people won't be protected ...
