Day 2 of the amazon. We were going to get up at four to get to the lake in time for sunrise, but it was pouring with rain when our alarms went off so we got to go back to sleep. I got an hour if sleep last night. One hour. I think it's still the jetlag but I just can't sleep!! Got a wake up call at 2:30am anyhow, so packed out stuff and headed out to the airport for our flight to peurto maldenardo, gateway to the amazon. I slept a bit on the plane. This morning was tough. Hangover central. In any case I was out in the lobby by 10 and happened to run in to Bianca, who will be my room mate for the tour. She was about to head to miraflores as I was so we jumped in a cab together and made the trip. We spent the morning walking along the boardwalk (I wanted to go paragliding but it was too foggy :( ) and checking out the parks. Pisco sours making was epic. I was waiting in the lobby at 3pm as my itinerary said I would be picked up from the hotel. By 10 past 3 I gathered I wasn't being picked up and was just going to let it go, but got reception to give the company a call anyhow. Made it to my "hotel" which is a glorified hostel. It is on a pretty busy area which apparently turns into bustling meat market at 6pm after which time i should not put a foot outside the hotel...according to Christian, my transfer driver.
