Well where to start?! Its been a very busy time recently. Getting two weeks off work for Christmas has been an absolute God send, even if it has meant a significant hole appearing in my bank account. The contribution towards that hole also came in the form of Christmas presents, as expected, though I suppose this was countered with the money sent by my parents as a present, plus all the other presents and cards my family were kind enough to send for both my Birthday on December 19th and Christmas 6 days later.
The actual day of Christmas was a disapointing one. Having planned to take a picnic to bondi or possibly coogee beach, we were confronted from the early hours all the way through to nightfall with heavy rain and were forced to stay inside most of the day! Not quite what you would expect from an Australian summer! Thankfully and quite typically, the weather since then has been fantastic, and one can only hope that it holds out for tomorrow night, new years eve. Speaking of new years, we have managed to get hold of some tickets to lunar park! a theme park located in Sydney harbour! They are to have live music playing and there will be a great view of the fireworks too. We have the fortune of knowing a few people going too which should make the night all the more enjoyable.
I was hoping to go to Wollongong in the suburbs this holiday to visit my friend Shane from work, to see a more 'Australian' area, yet he, like many is poorly organised and although he has asked me on occasions to go over there has not sorted himself out recently. I did, however, go out the other night in bondi with another friend from work, Gavin and was laddish enough to get home at 4.30am. All in all its been an exciting couple of weeks with more to come in the form of new years eve night tomorrow and The Ashes on Saturday! I still have a surfing lesson to take up in Manly, which Chloe kindly bought me for my birthday and we have plans to hopefully go to the blue mountains soon. In the mean time I'm sure i'll be going for some more nights out with Tomas and Christian from downstairs as well as people from work. Generally things are good and I badly don't want to go back to work!
