As the title suggests, had a pretty nice, quiet weekend, which consisted of reading The Catcher in the Rye, and watching The Ashes. Thats right, i've actually been watching cricket. Despite the long vendetta I have had against the sport, and my various claims of how slow, boring and painful to observe it can be, just remember that I am in Australia. I have been well and truly swept up in the furore surrounding the rivarly between the mother land and our convict cousins from down under to the point that I have even purchased two tickets for the final test in Sydney. Its just a shame England are doing so poorly, but at least I may get the chance to throw something at Mitchell Johnson, or at the very least, hurl some verbal abuse at him. The words that come most appropriately to mind in this regard would relate to his bizarre facial hair, need I remind him it is no longer 'movember.'
Between now and that day I will have plenty of time to plot my best course of action in ruining his day. In Australia it is common for businesses to take 2 weeks off over Christmas, and my organisation are no exception. I'm very much looking forward to seeing a few people over the break, with the possibility of going out into the suburbs a bit to see the real Aussie side of life. Only this week to get through until that time comes, which shouldn't be too bad when you consider that my Birthday is this Thursday! Still ponmdering what to do for it, needless to say, I'm in Sydney, i'm sure i'll think of something!
