Productive day today.
I got up and did some more editing on my essay (again with help from mom's comments). Then I made some food and did some stuff around the flat before heading to class.
Class today was walking around the east end of London then making our way to Greenwich looking at mostly churches the whole time.
Greenwich was awesome. We walked through the cute town, past a market and to a church (where else). Then we made our way to the Old Naval College (previously a naval hospital and now University of Greenwich) and the Queen's house. This was all extremely beautiful. There is a beautiful sloping hill down to the Queen's house. This looks down across a road and through the Naval College for a fabulous view of the Thames. Unfortunately that view was obstructed today. There were tents, fences, cranes and large Walls and scaffolding everywhere. Upon closer look it was discovered that it was a film set for Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Now I don't know how I feel about a fourth movie because the third one seemed to end the series. Anyway since we couldn't go inside class ended half an hour early. I used this extra time to wander around the perimeter of the set and catch glimpses of pirates, carriages, horses, pieces of set walls etc. It was all really cool. Unfortunately most of these things were seen through spaces in fences because a large blue wall was built between the fence and the river to block out the view of skyscrapers.
Needless to say this was a great highlight of my day (although it would have been better if I had caught a glimpse of Johnny Depp or).
Then made my way back to central london and did some grocery shopping. I had a lovely solo dinner of burritos finished off by some sorbet and my experimental apple shortbread cookies (which didn't work as well as the strawberry ones but still taste fine).
Now it's bedtime for me. Going on another visit tomorrow, this one to Tate Modern to see an exhibit on voyeurism and surveillance.
Night night.
