Ohayou!
Unfortunately, we didn't see an orangutan today.
But what we have done has been really great. First we strolled through DenDen Town, the geekiest part of Osaka, where the pachinko slot arcades and dvd shops rule the roost. After that, we ended up in Amerika-mura, with shops after shops advertising American fashion in a really well designed open-air mall.
We returned to the hostel after this, but it was still only noon. What to do, what to do...
Well, we decided to visit the port of Osaka. On the way we walked past a harem of bellydancers, and once there, took a spin on the world's tallest ferris wheel. This was all leading up to the main event; the Osaka Aquarium. This was a really fantastic aquarium which had, among other things, dolphins, otters, seals, giant spider crabs (terrifying things), huge rays, hammerhead sharks, penguins and capybara (lol). Oh, it had a massive WHALE SHARK too. This thing was seriously huge, and tons of fish followed around behind/under it, probably so it didn't accidentally eat them through its nostrils.
I've also bought a few souvenirs today, so all in all, its been a good day :)
