Den on the loose
NZ Day Fifthteen
Today we got up at a ridiculously stupid time as we had to catch the bus for our scenic day out at Milford Sounds. On the way to Milford we stopped at a road layby to see where they shot the Lord of the Rings Two movie well the introductory scene of the rolling mountains which were in fact Eglington Valley.
To get to Milford we had to pass through Homer Tunnel which meant a 200m descent from 1000m above sea level , prior to entering the tunnel we stopped at Wolf Creek where everyone stopped to fill their bottles with the apparent clear pure water.
When we did get to Milford we hopped on a boat around the Fiords which was great as we managed to fur seal pups. On the way back to the harbour we came across a school of dolphins and it was so cool to see these stunning creatures swimming alongside the boat with a couple of them showing off and jumping out of the water.
That evening we all went out together again as it was Helle, Jane and Linda's last night in Queenstown as they were off to Cromwell to work on a farm for a week.
As usual our first stop was the Altitude Bar, whilst we were there the Flyover Wire Crew were setting up their promotion which meant that if you got a tattoo from them you'd be entered into a draw to receive a free ride on the Fly By Wire.
So Steve-O and i went and got one done (I had my first one on my the back of neck) and then later i discovered that if you got 5 tatt's you'd get a footprint tatt as well.
So i went back to the tatt guy but this time with Helle, in the end i had a tattoo on my neck, one on Bill (left arm), one on Ben (Right arm) another one on my chest and the last one on my right cheek with a arrow pointing to my inner cheek which i didnt notce till the day after and then a footprint tattoo across the 'abs of steel' hahahaha.
Helle in the end only got two tattoo's instead of 5 as we agreed so that was poor show but hey its all good no drama's.
Anyways after lots of drinking and dancing and partying i didn't get back to half 5 in the morning but feeling pretty good which was surprising.
