Den on the loose
NZ Day Twenty-Nine Before our stop to Rotarua we stopped at a thermal mud pool where basically there's a big lake with a grey mud and the thermal activity below sends out belches of huge stinky proportions that make you want to vomit. Rotarua aka 'Rotten Rua' which is amply named for the town because of the terrible suplhur smell that dominates the area. It's so bad that when your walking down the street you find youself getting hit with a wave of suplhur in your face. In the evening we went to a traditional Maori & Hangi concert with Tamaki Tours where we experienced te tradtional welcoming and singing ceremony followed by an extended version of the Haka and at the end a very big all-you-can-eat roast mmmmmmmhhhh roast, so as you can imagine i almost passed out from excitement as i looked upon all the food.
