I feel like so much has happened since Friday but maybe it's just a result of my lack of sleep this weekend.Friday night we went out with a bunch of people to a place the guys wanted to go to but once we were there some of the girls wanted to leave so we wandered our way to Piccadilly Circusto go to Tiger Tiger. But since it was so late the cover charge was 10 pounds and not everyone wanted to pay that so we attempted to get in with some guys who basically needed us to get in (they apparently don't let groups of guys in without girls) and offered to pay for our cover charges but then the bouncer startedquizzing the first guy on information about us and he obviously failed haha. So then we just kinda walked back to our dorm and at that point it was like 1:30am so we just all went to bed.
On Saturday we decided to go to Greenwich after breakfast so around 1pm we took the tube to Greenwich which was really nice (plus it only cost us 1.80 pounds to get there, soo cheap!)pretty much everything we wanted to do in Greenwich was free which was even more exciting! We went to the National Maritime Museum, the Queen's House and the Royal Observatory. The Royal Observatory is where the Prime Meridian is and if you look at my pictures there's one with me in both hemispheres of the world! The observatory also has the only Planetarium in London and since it decided to suddenly rain while we were there we decided to pay for a show which was pretty cool. After that we headed back towards the train station and stopped for Asian food along the way. Then we took the tube/train back to our dorm. A bunch of us were planning on going to fabric but people bailed out. It ended up being me, Nicole and Cynthia going to fabric (a really fun club) and danced the night away! We got back to our dorm around 5am and of course I wasn't tired enough to go to sleep by then so I finally fell asleepfrom 8-10am then got breakfast and slept again for like an hour and a half after breakfast. After a little bit of sleep I got ready and then me and Nicole decided to walk to Abbey Road (which is like 4 miles from my dorm). We walked around Abbey Road and took some pictures then headed over to Regent's Park and walked around there. Regent's Park is probably my favorite park in London because it was so adorable and just a really pleasant thing to do on a Sunday afternoon/evening. We got back in time to meet up with some other Northeastern people and go to Rainforest Café which I enjoyed a lot since I haven't been there since I was like 10 years old. It was nice to be a kid again and I got a really delicious salad (I've been missing fresh veggies lately). After dinner, we just went back to our dorm and I attempted to do some reading for my class but due to lack of sleep I just ended up falling asleep!
Monday was just a normal day filled with lots of class and reading. We just stayed in this night to try to catch up on work and sleep haha. Tuesday I had class again but after lecture I went to the Avenue Qtheater and ended up getting a ticket for that night's show which was only 19.50 pounds! I went back and did some reading before class and then made dinner and went to the show. Avenue Q was absolutely hilarious and I would definitely recommend it :) after that I met up with Nicole at Piccadilly Circus and we went to Sport's Café for American/Student night which means free entry and cheap drinks aka we're there haha. We ran into some of the boys from our program and ended up hanging out with them then dancing most of the night. We got back to our dorm around 3am.
Wednesday was my last day of lecture at LSE which was kinda exciting but also kinda upsetting that the end was so near. In the evening we went to On Anon which is a club near Piccadilly but no one was there so we stayed for like an hour and headed back. It was nice to go out but I needed to catch up on all my work so I was kinda glad it wasn't a very long night. On Thursday I woke up early and studied the entire day! I had class from 5-6pm which I went to and then straight to the library from there. I did my laundry so that I had all clean clothes for my European adventure. I went to bed around 2:30am and wanted to wake up early to study and gather some of my stuff up but I slept in until 8am which was cutting it close to my 9am final.
I grabbed breakfast real quick and then headed to my final which was okay… it was a lot of writing and I'm not really sure how I did but the good thing is that it's over now! After my final I headed back to my dorm where my sister was attempting to sleep. I got a shower then got hummus bros and me, Nicole and my sister ate it in my kitchen. Then we met up with little Anh and took the tube to Buckingham Palace. We didn't realize it was supposed to rain all day long and so the downpours that we faced walking to the Palace were not the best of situations. We toured the palace which was probably one of the coolest things I've done in London! We got an audio guide telling us all the history and I don't think I've ever seenso many beautiful rooms in such a short time period. Also, I love the Queen and there was this cool exhibition called "The Queen's Year." After Buckingham Palace me and my sister walked along St. James Park and to Parliament Square where we saw Westminster Abbey, Parliament building and Big Ben. We also walked down by the Thames River and took some pictures then did some souvenir shoppingand walked back to my dorm. Also, fun fact: Europe's largest apple store just recently opened in Covent Garden 2 weekends ago which is like less than 10 minutes from my dorm! We got some fish and chips for dinner and then packed our bags and tried to prepare as much as possible for our trip to Venice. We then got ready and headed off to Tiger Tiger for Akriti's almost-21st birthday party where we had a booth and cupcakes :) It was a very fun last day/night in London and I got back to my dorm around 2am and crashed for like 2 hours before waking up for my flight to Venice!
