hello everyone! the last few days have been strange. the weather has been pretty chilly (around high 70 degrees) but i think today its supposed to go up to 75! Wednesday night after the museum of London i went back to my room and had dinner. then like 6 of us northeastern girls went out to tiger tiger. its right down by Piccadilly circus and was a lot of fun especially because managed to get a booth so we could take a break from all the dancing and relax. we got back around 2:30am which wasn't too late and then i got a few hours of sleep before I got up for breakfast and class on Thursday. Thursday was my last day having my afternoon discussion group from 2-3 and for the next three days it will be from 3-4pm. I hate how it rotates all the time but they claim its only "fair" which I think is funny because in my class we talk about how economists don't care if something is fair. Anyways, after class me and Anh attempted to get cheap tickets to see a musical but I guess this week/Thursday nights are not the best night to do so. I took a little nap because I was exhausted from the night before and then made dinner.
I decided that since I had some extra time to do stuff I would figure out the train situation for when I'm traveling with my sister (its so soon and I can't wait!!!!)Well I guess I got confused and clicked 2 passengers rather than one to compare the prices with the ones I had looked up before and I didn't realize this so I almost died when I thought the train tickets were going to be over $500 more than we originally expected! I quickly called my sister but she was still sleeping then called my mom in a panic cause of course I was freaking out! After I calmed down a bit, I decided to call the phone number and see if they could help me and the lady I spoke to was soo nice and helpful! I was talking to her for like 45 minutes and she found us the best times/prices possible. The good thing is that I was able to place a hold on those seats/times/prices but I was able to email everything to my sister and make sure everything's alright before we enter any credit card information. So hopefully we'll look at all that stuff today and get it straightened out and booked. So that was quite the experience and I was very stressed out/worried in the beginning but felt much better once I got off the phone.
Then I headed downstairs to hang out and play cards with some friends. We played some card games in the common room/bar area downstairs until around 12:30am when we all decided we should probably do some homework and get ready for bed. I kept falling asleep while reading so I decided just to get up early on Friday and finish my reading. So I fell asleep around 1:30ish and shortly after (around 2am) the fire alarm went off! I don't know what happened but basically I had to walk down 13 flights of stairs, stand outside for like 20 minutes then take the stairs back to my room! It was quite the experience that I hope will never happen again.
Well it's almost breakfast time but today after my class I might go to a museum (since they are free!) and then were going out to a club tonight :) hope everyone has a wonderful day
