I can't believe that I have less than 2 weeks left in London (my sister arrives in london in 10 days)!! It has gone by so quickly and although I'm very excited to travel around Europe, I'm not so excited to go back to the US (sorry to anyone who's offended by this but London is just a lot more exciting then home and school)
So this weekend was fun (its kinda hard not to have fun here plus I always tend to make the best out of every situation)! On Friday night we went to a club that someone recommended but it wasn't really our kind of place cause we were just looking to dance and have a good time. So it was an early night but then I got up the next morning and since I decided to sleep in a little bit, I missed breakfast :(
Me and Nicole decided to go to get some food then head over to Kensington Palace. We got set on going to Humus Bros which was actually the first humus bar in the UK and is absolutely delicious! However the one that's right near our dorm is closed on the weekends and so we made the trek throughSoHo to the next closest one. Looking back on it that was a mistake but I was so set on having it that I didn't care (plus I didn't know how far it was). My chicken dish was delicious but because I was soo hungry I think I ate it too fast because I felt sick for the next few hours :( after our tummy's were full we took the tube to Kensington Palace and toured the "Enchanted Palace." Apparently they are doing a bunch of restorations to the Palace so we could only go into certain state rooms and the exhibit (I guess you could call it that) was sort of childish and not as informative as I would have liked, although one person working there told us all about princess charlotte which was very interesting.
After we were done with the Palace we walked through Kensington Gardens and then Hyde Park which was soo nice! Hyde Park is huge and I totally forgot that I was in the middle of London. We decided to take a break and sit in these chairs that were all over the grass (they were super comfy) and then this man came up and told us we had to pay 1.50 pounds to sit there for an hour. He was really mean looking and I was scared so I just paid him and we decided to get our monies worth and so we just relaxed and watched these dumb people attempt to operate a row boat (very entertaining).
Then we just headed back to our dorm because we had done a lot of walking and were exhausted. Later that night we went out with a bunch of northeastern kids to a club named cargo which since we went so late ended up having a long line but once we were in there it was pretty fun!
On Sunday I got breakfast and then me and Nicole went to the Natural History Museum which is in South Kensington. The museum is huge and was really great (plus free!) except for all of the little children running around everywhere. I got to see tons of dinos which was my favorite and then a bunch of other animals (stuffed) and some cool rocks/jewels, ect. After we were done with the museum, we went to a small café nearby and got jacket potatoes which are super yummy! Then we just walked around the area and passed Harrods then got on the tube and came back to our dorm. I then took a small nap and did some reading before going out to dinner with my flatmates. We went to pizza express which doesn't sound so exciting but it was very tasty. Me and Kira split a pizza with spinach, goat cheese, red onions and caramelized onions! We also had dessert and so I got coffee gelato and a café latte to help me stay up in order to get all my work done. After that I just came back to my room and did a bunch of reading in order to get myself in order for my midterm on Wednesday. I skyped with my mom and dad for a little bit then finished my reading and went to bed.
Since my midterm is on Wednesday pretty much all I'll be doing until then is studying :( but after Wednesday, I plan to enjoy London as much as possible.
