yay! im proud of myself for taking the time to update this now! haha im really just procrastinating from the hours of reading that i have yet to do. well yesterday i slept in a little bit (probably the most sleep ive had so far and it was only about 7 hours). then me and michelle went to this cute cafe like 2 minutes from our dorm and got 11inch margarita pizzas for 3.50 pounds which was very exciting and super delicious. then we met up with nicole and the three of us took the tube to the tower of london! although jenny had told me all about this place of course i forgot but everyone said i just had to go. it was sooo cool too! basically when we walked in there was this man dressed up in some funny outfit and so we just kinda joined that tour and he told us all about the history of each tower (basically who was imprisoned there before being beheaded). then we kinda broke off from the tour when it was done and went through all the other towers. we also went to the white tower (the main one) and saw this cool "fit for a king" exhibit with all the different king's armor. we then ran into some people dressed up in "village" clothes and they were acting out when anne boleyn arrived at the trial then eventually got beheaded (we obviously didn't see that). after that we went to the crown jewels exhibit which was soooooo cool! basically got to see the most famous crowns and coronation items and apparently the vault doors that the jewels are enclosed in each weigh 2000kgs!
after that we were pretty exhausted (we spent about 4 hours there) so i came back and took a much needed nap and then woke up to find that my laptop decided to basically go into a coma! somehow during my nap my "user profile" had been corrupted but im still not sure what that means or how that happens when my computer was off the whole time! so of course i freaked out and started crying after the "urgent computer care" man told me that it was 8:30 on a sunday and no one was going to help me and then hung up! luckily i was able to make sure that on safe mode all of my documents were still there so at least i didnt lose everything! needless to say after like 2 hours of trying to figure it out i went down to the computer lab to write my paper (oh i didn't mention the fact that i had a paper due today, monday, and hadn't started it at this point). i was able to finish my paper and do a little bit of reading before going to sleep for a few hours and waking up in time for breakfast and lecture.
after lecture i went to the 'laptop surgery' place on campus to try to get my computer fixed and luckily i didn't have to wait and within 45 mins the guy brought my computer back to life :) i was so excited and kept thanking him and im sure he just wanted me to get out of there haha. then i went back to my dorm and made a nutella and pb sandwich (sooo yummy) and did some work for my class which was at 4pm. at 6pm i met up with some northeastern friends to figure out some details for next weekend. since my public finance class ends on friday (my final is from 12pm to 2pm) we were trying to figure out a weekend trip to go on before our next class starts on monday. we decided to go to scotland and booked all of our stuff and im soooo excited!!!
were going to take a night bus, leave london at 11pm on 7/23 and arrive in Edinburgh around 8am on 7/24. were staying at the caledonian backpackers hostel and since theres 7 of us we'll all be in the same room which will be like a giant sleepover! since we just did this like 2 hours ago there are no other plans as of now except were going to take the train back to london around 5:30 on sunday and we should get into london around 10:30pm. im very excited to get away for a bit and actually see another part of the UK!
well i better get back to my reading but as you could probably tell the past two days have been the best (tower of london and booking scotland trip) and worst (my laptop) days since ive been here but im still loving it :)
the plans are to go to the london eye tomorrow night (although this is the 3rd time we've rescheduled it) so hopefully we end up going!
Cheers!

Valerie Ahh! I love all that historical stuff at the Tower of London! Not sure why I find beheadings so amusing... The laptop stuff is so crazy but I'm glad it all worked out! Also, your classes STILL sound ridiculously insane, but it's good to know you guys are still going out and having fun! Take lots and lots of great pictures on the Eye!!!
