Today I did two things I've never done before; I flew into Perth for the first time ever (it was raining cats and dogs). I then flew out of Perth and am now sitting on a plane leaving the country for the first time ever to Bali! I've already met a girl Milly, who is a seasoned traveller & has a Balinese boyfriend Mico- I will definately be seeing her, she is on the flight behind me Air Asia, I'm on Virgin. I also exchanged Aussie money for American dollars to pay for my Visa.

OMG the scenery out the window is like nothing I have ever seen before-it is kind of like the Territory but even more barren- red deep ochre, rolling arid hills with veins that look like tree paintings spidering out web like. AMAZING! About to leave Australian airspace I'm soo excited- can see the ocean now; azure blue, such pretty pinks, fuschia's, ochre's, burnt orange, even hot pink in the landscape close to the sea.

Landed in Denpasar & my Balinese family were there to greet me. Lovely people who knew and loved my Nan as much as I did! They were so happy to see me. They have installed me in a hotel literally 50 metres from their home for $30 a night with a pool, kingsize bed, wifi and brekky inluded. The traffic here is insane, so many scooters and no order! Love it
