This morning I was up early and enjoyed the cool morning breezes while the sun rose over the bay. Last night, was the best sleep I've had in 10 days.
But today was a work day. Peter had written a whole list of things that needed to be accomplished while he left for RoadTown with our passports.
The major task was to get the dingy out of the foredeck hatch and put it together. Then we needed to empty the foredeck rinse it down and let it dry.
While Marty and Dale were doing that, Erika and I were cleaning below. Erika cleaned both heads, the freezer and the reefer. I cleaned the floors, reinstalled the stove exhaust filter, tightened the spray deck fittings and applied chaffing tape to the bow sprit where the lifeline attaches.
When Peter returned, he was pleased to see how much work had been done. Then it was time for Erika to leave.
She was looking very spiffy with her white shorts and blue sailor top. It was sad to see her go because she was a good mate. Not so much her ability because she was ill during much of the trip, but it was her cheerful attitude and willingness to pitch in. She was really just one of the "guys". So hugs all around and off she went in the water taxi.
We then launched the dingy, lowered the motor and secured the gas tank and battery. The motor wouldn't start so Marty and Peter went to get fuel. While they were gone, Dale and I started putting things back into the fore peak. After over an hour, Marty came rowing back and told us that the motor had some problems. Dale went with Marty to shore and I stayed aboard by myself.
It was nice to be by myself. I managed to get an Internet connection and went through all my email. I answered an email from Mom and Kim. I brought my diary up to date. And then I just kicked back and fixed myself a drink and enjoyed the late afternoon.
Finally they all came back. We had a guest, Josh, from the boat next to us, join us for a beer. Peter had bought us a case of Red Stripe this morning and it was nice and cold now.
After drinks, we all went over to the restaurant and had dinner. I had the seafood stir fry and a beer...$35.00.
Back at the boat, we were all tired after a hard days work and we all went to bed.
