I had the 2000 to 0100 watch with no incidents followed by a long night's sleep.
Erika made breakfast of oatmeal, nuts, and dried apricots.
We are close hauled with a gentle south west wind heading for a position several hundred miles south of Bermuda. At that point we hope the wind will veer to the west so we can sail south to the Virgins. If the wind stays the same, we will have to tack back towards the mainland which will lengthen our trip.
But if the weather today continues, taking longer to arrive will be a pleasure. The temperature is perfect for laying out on deck and soaking up the rays. It's a lazy day sail and we even broke out the rum and ginger beer to make some dark and stormys.
I made my self useful during the morning hours by wiping down all the metal work in the aft cockpit which was all covered in a thick coating of salt. I also whipped the ends of the spray ties.
Marty made a nice lunch of tuna sandwiches, pickle, hard boiled egg and cheese. All chased down with a dark and stormy.
After lunch we all went on deck to enjoy the beautiful weather and just enjoy making way through the waves and chatting.
Peter made a lovely salad with blue cheese and bacon and served wine to compliment. Then we all settled down to watch several episodes of a British series called House of Cards, about political manipulation.
Erica had the first watch and I went to bed to get some sleep before my watch.
